Define the problem

The growth of the human population, consumption, and
excessive use of resources. Excessive creation of various types of household
waste that is sometimes not properly disposed of. Waste not only pollutes the
air, groundwater, and soil, but also leads to the release of CO2 and methane into
the atmosphere, thus affecting climate change. In addition, everything that
ends up in the ground, water, or air eventually ends up on our plates. The
water we drink, the fish, meat, fruits, vegetables, and grains we eat are
"fed" by water, soil, and air that are polluted, contaminated, full
of microplastics, harmful gases, and other unhealthy substances. The need to
educate people on how to properly separate waste. The possibility of reuse and
recycling.

Which groups of people are affected by this problem?

This problem affects all living beings on Earth, soil,
water, and air. Waste not only pollutes the air, groundwater, and soil, but
also leads to the release of CO2 and methane into the atmosphere, thus
affecting climate change. In addition, everything that ends up in the ground,
water, or air eventually ends up on our plates. The water we drink, the fish,
meat, fruits, vegetables, and grains we eat are "fed" by water, soil,
and air that are polluted, contaminated, full of microplastics, harmful gases,
and other unhealthy substances.

Who is responsible for this problem?

Governments of individual countries, Ministries of
Environmental Protection, city authorities, and ultimately all people are
primarily responsible for this problem. Everyone can contribute to reducing and
completely eliminating the problem at their own level.

How big is the problem?

The problem of waste separation, recycling, and management
is a global problem. In some parts of the world, it is bigger, and in some
parts of the world, people have the resources and opportunities to reduce waste
in nature. This problem is greater in poorer countries.

What is blocking the current solution of the problem?

Poverty, the need for education, and unawareness of the
significance of this problem are currently standing in the way of solving the
problem.

Why did you choose this problem, and why is it important to solve it?

We chose this problem because we wanted to raise awareness
of the problem, educate, share information, primarily with the students and
parents of our school, and then with the residents of our city of Vukovar and
all those who visit our school's website.

How does the chatbot solve this problem?

We plan for the chatbot to be part of our school's website
to inform and educate students and parents of our school about the topic of
recycling, waste separation, and disposal. How individuals can influence the
solution to the problem of soil, water, and air pollution.
